Entry: Quick Note To Coloradans Monday, March 05, 2007

Note to Colorado Readers

Tomorrow, 3/6/07, the House Armed Services Committee is reviewing HB 07-1069,  sponsored by a Republican Senator, Kester and a Democrat Representative, McKinley, which would withdraw Colorado State support for the use of Eminent Domain for the purpose of expanding the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site.

I plan to be on the phone a lot with every member of the committee (or their offices, most likely) and everyone who represents El Paso county, asking them to support this legislation to the fullest.

On KVOR 3/1/07 Brigadier General James Milano said they were "...Welcoming 10,000 new troop.  We have sufficient facilities and training capabilities for them..."

So what do they need more for.

Please contact them:

Being in Texas, I'm obviously not familiar with what you're refering to but in general, this whole "Eminent Domain" issue is becoming very, very scary.

It doesn't sound like this is a private corporation but it's happened in other areas of the country. And when private corporations can move in and arbitrarily take a person's personal property because it will increase the city's tax base or whatever, something is wrong. Very wrong!

Good luck, Colorado!
